We're Movin' On Up!

I know I've been a little AWOL lately, recovering from the holidays, spending quality time with the fam without worrying about taking photos for the blog...it's been kind of wonderful. But honestly, there wasn't much to write about. Unless you like hearing day-to-day stuff, like how Z went on a sleep strike, and then, once that was mostly under control, she went on a hunger strike and would only eat fruit and cinnamon Life cereal, and that's if we can get her to sit in one place long enough to eat anything at all. Right now she prefers to eat her meals standing on her step stool at the kitchen counter. Whatever works. The joys of being almost two!
And to make up for my absence, here's a couple of my favorite shots of the kid being cute.

Anyhoo...we've finally got something to share...big BIG news!!!

I should preface it by telling you that, to my knowledge, I am not expecting baby #2. I know that's where your brains were headed.

So with that out of the way...The Hubs got a much deserved promotion and our little family will be hauling our cookies up to Virginia! The Virginia Beach/Chesapeake area, to be specific, though we're not exactly sure yet. Oh and by the way, did I mention this was all happening in the next month?! Yup. We head up there next week to house-hunt and hope to be packed, moved, and standing in line at the DMV by the first week in March. Crazy-fast!

It's gonna be hard to leave our little corner of SoFlo. We love, love our neighborhood, and town, and have a pretty great landlord (Cathy...any chance you have properties in VaBch?!). But, I'm super jazzed to live someplace out of Florida for a minute or two, and even more excited to live in a place where seasons exist. Boots. Scarves. Sweaters. Hooray! And yet, we'll still be able to do the things we love, like kayak, fish, and hit the beach.

Unfortunately, Zoey's second birthday falls right smack in the middle of this moving madness - mid February. So... we've had to bag all celebration plans and are planning to keep it simple, since our house will be full of boxes and chaos - we could even be moving on her b-day. Probably not, but it's possible. We're thinking of doing something bigger in mid-March, once we get a little bit settled, but since we'll be somewhere new, away from friends and family, who knows what will end up happening.  But, rest assured, she will blow out a candle on her actual day...it just might be stuck in a cookie instead of the cute smash cake I had planned. Good thing she's turning two and not ten. She won't have a clue!

I'm so proud of the Hubs! And I can't wait to get this new adventure started! Right after I figure out how to wiggle my nose like Samantha on Bewitched and get this house packed and ready to go!
